Site Prep
for Sheds, Garages, and Beyond
We handle site prep for every shed we sell, and we also help coordinate prep for any other outdoor structure you purchase from us. Our site preparation fee is tailored to your specific project, so you’ll only be paying for what your specific structure needs.
Stone Foundations
We handle the site preparation for an additional fee, but if you would like to take care of the foundation on your own, here are a few things to keep in mind.
In most cases, we recommend a stone foundation for sheds. They’re quicker to install, easier to work with, and more budget-friendly.
Slope:
The grade of your yard can impact how easy it is to create a level stone pad. Make sure the foundation is fully level and allows for proper drainage.
Drainage:
Your site should let water flow away from the shed, not collect around it. Proper drainage helps prevent long-term issues with both the foundation and the structure.
Concrete & Block Foundations
Concrete and block foundations take a little more time and cost a bit more than a stone pad, but they’re hard to beat for strength and longevity. They hold up better over the years and do a great job keeping out insects and small animals.
If you already have a concrete contractor you trust, you’re welcome to bring them in. If not, we can help set the foundation ourselves or hire a subcontractor. Either way, we’ll make sure your foundation is solid and done right.
Other Site Prep Considerations
It’s also important to make sure there’s a clear path from the road or driveway to where your shed will sit. Our delivery equipment can squeeze into some pretty tight spots, but every now and then, we may need to build the structure on-site instead. When this is the case, there’s an extra fee.
If an old shed or fence is blocking the way, and you’re ready to part with it, let us know. We can remove it for you for an additional fee.
